Apprenticeship
"It is not the gardener that makes the garden. It is the garden that makes the gardener." - Alan Chadwick

We mentor adults of all ages interested in building personal or professional projects in collaboration with the living world. Apprentices work alongside biodynamic and regenerative farmers learning to cultivate flowers, herbs, and vegetables using methods that benefit local ecosystems.

Our Core Apprenticeship Program is a transformative personal and professional journey divided into three phases: Preparing, Planting, Propagating.

Our pilot program begins in March 2025. If you are interested in learning more and possibly joining, please fill out this form.

PHASE ONE (3 months)
Phase One provides a foundation in regenerative farming, teamwork, and community participation. Apprentices work with Farm Studio mentors to become proficient in the basics of soil health, water management and plant cultivation. Personal growth, responsibility, and communication are nourished through mentorship, group study, personal reflection, and regular social gatherings. Apprentices explore our relationship to place through the lenses of farming, art, science and consciousness.

Phase One prepares apprentices to be valuable contributors at one of our partner farms or artisan businesses during Phase Two.

PHASE TWO (3 months or more)
Farm Studio facilitates a matchmaking process to successfully place apprentices at one of our partner farms for Phase Two. Our partner farms are carefully selected for their regenerative and agro-ecological practices as well as a focus on the local community. For at least three months, apprentices work daily alongside host farmers or ecological artisans to build skills and gain confidence. During this phase, they complete and present mini-projects in a particular area of interest.
